Bash at the Boo Ball!

Remember that house on your street that had all the best decorations and the greatest candy every Halloween? That was this years WRRV Boo Ball – only with extensive decorations and some different types of “eye candy,” but we’ll get to that later.

There’s no doubt that the Boo Ball was the biggest party in the Hudson Valley. When I first walked in the doors and the artificial fog cleared, it revealed an extensively transformed Mid-Hudson Civic Center! The people over at Pure Terror Scream Park created a dark and spooky atmosphere that provided just enough light to expose some of the hottest, and most hellish, Halloween costumes I’ve ever seen. I’m not joking; the venue was over run with sexy devils, exotic ninjas, and steamy sirens. I even spotted some hot Playboy bunnies! I should also add that they all were wearing the minimal amount of clothing possible.

This was my first Boo Ball and I was pumped. Naturally, with me being me, I went over to a group of girls who, I had to assume were dressed up as female versions of the Avengers, and bought them all shots of Woo Woo. I know — last time I had mentioned Angry Balls, now I’m taking shot’s of this Woo Woo stuff. I have to say the stuff is great! It’s a mix of vodka, peach schnapps and cranberry juice. The shots go down quick and smooth, so much so, that I hardly felt a burning aftertaste.

After our drinks, we headed center stage and rocked out to one of the areas hottest party bands, “Saved By the 90’s.” They feature a lot of, you guessed it, 90’s cover bands but they also did 80’s music as well. I literally felt the music of the 90’s pulsate through my chest as they played classic covers from Eve 6, The Goo Goo Dolls and Gin Blossoms.

Now here comes the twist! Between sets, a DJ broke out the turntables and the vibe switched from rock scene to club scene. I’ve gotta say, grinding out on the dance floor and looking around to see everyone in costumes is quite a rush.

It’s safe to say that The WRRV Boo Ball was one hell of a party. If you missed the party this year, no worries! There are plenty of Halloween parties posted on our site. Click on over to our events section to see where the areas hottest Halloween events are. Also, keep in mind that a party wouldn’t be complete with a DJ so be sure to nominate your favorite one in our Best DJ Contest. We’ll be announcing the winner on Thanksgiving Eve!

Halloween time in Hudson Valley is simply AMAZING! I want you all to have a blast and be safe. So heed my warning: Don’t die! But if you do, come back as a zombie and keep partying!
